Location: Midland – United States
The Engineering Manager manages and coordinates the work of highly skilled engineering staff placing particular emphasis on research and development with the objective of developing new product lines and expanding existing product lines within the basic concept of accessories for the oil field industry. Supervises day-to-day engineering functions. Introduce new products and follow through on their development from concept to full production. General supervision of the engineering staff.
Is responsible for Research and Development of new product lines.
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Engineering department.
Directs drafting department in preparation of drawings, procedures, sketches, etc., necessary for the development of new products.
Assists the manufacturing department in the development of processes and molds necessary to produce the product.
Conducts a continuous search of new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the product line.
Prepares Research and Development requests and justifications.
Prepares budget and schedules for the development of new product lines. Maintains system of budget and schedule control.
Performs other Engineering duties as assigned.
Assists marketing in sales presentations, catalogs, and general advertising literature.
Employee Relations: Must facilitate good working relationships among subordinates.
Materials or Products: Responsible for care of a broad variety of materials and experimental products.
Equipment: Responsible for care of standard office equipment and a variety of shop and test equipment.
Money: Considerable damage or loss is possible but can be prevented by using a high degree of care and attention.
Business Contacts: Contacts with persons inside or outside the company where matters discussed require resourcefulness, tact, and a working knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures.
Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Mechanical engineering with Materials engineering background.
Technical Requirements: Working knowledge and proficiency in metallography, fluid dynamics, drafting, GD&T, manufacturing & mechanical design.
Good working knowledge of oil and gas related product engineering, API 11AX, 11B
Proficiency in computer programs including Autocad 2D, Autodesk Inventor 2D & 3D, Microsoft Office.
Experience of working in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Strong math and analytical skills with good oral, written and presentation skills.
Experience: 3-5 years of related experience
