Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Project Cost Controls Lead – Small Capital Projects for the Richmond CA. Refinery through June 30th, 2017.
Lead the project controls team to support Small Capital Projects (SCP) for the Richmond Refinery per the Chevron Project Management System (CPMS). The projects managed by the SCP group are typically a portfolio of 30 to 50 active projects ranging between $2MM to $75MM. The lead must have strong team work skills and be able to work with both Chevron project management, IMPACT Turnaround Team and, Engineering and Construction contracting teams to support project cost, schedule and reporting objectives.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Lead and oversee Project Controls personnel that monitor cost and schedule, prepare and verify cost estimates, coordinate project closeout, Reliability Action Plans (RAP) and monitor PSM reviews for SCP.
Coordinate implementation of project controls processes, systems and procedures for capital projects.
Oversee and provide guidance to Engineering firms on implementation of project controls and project reporting.
Oversee the development of Cost Estimates and Schedule baselines.
Execute Cost and Schedule Assurance.
Oversee the coordination of project close out activities and project lookbacks.
Oversee coordination and tracking of Reliability Action Plans and PSM reviews.
Coordinate project schedule integration with IMPACT during TA shutdowns.
Monitor and review Earned Value reporting.
Provide support to the Capital Projects Team Lead and Growth Steering Team on project spend and portfolio management.
Support benchmarking activities, business planning processes and reporting.
Work with Finance to ensure established accounting processes, systems, and procedures are followed.
Coordinate with Manufacturing Project Controls BIN team on the deployment of new practices or standards.
Actively seeks and applies lessons learned and best practices from within the Business Unit, other Chevron locations, industry, and contractors.
Participate in project reviews, risk assessments and assurance activities.
Bachelors degree in business, accounting, construction management or engineering.
Prior experience supervising contract and/or company personnel.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project control systems (scheduling, cost controls, estimating, and cost analysis) including finance systems (SAP), business planning processes and invoicing (processing, record keeping, auditing).
Cost and schedule experience within the oil and gas industry.
Ability to develop and maintain controls systems to support cost and schedule performance.
Demonstrated personal and leadership commitment to Safety, Reliability, and
Incident and Injury Free Operations.
Proven verbal and written communications skills to effectively facilitate and influence at a variety of levels across the organization.
Candidate must exhibit strong leadership and change management skills.
Prior experience in Project Management.
10 years of project controls experience in the oil refining industry.
Prior experience with Primavera, Maximo, Ariba, CERS and Project Controls databases.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters
