Fluid Analysis Specialist
Location: Houston – United States
The Fluid Analysis Specialist is a direct support of operations by performing quality and auditable experiments, following all relevant and applicable procedures, supporting the Lab Supervisor (LS) while developing technical skills via on the job learning and iLearn training ladder.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Carry out geochemistry and compositional laboratory analyses and experiments, as well as any other technical tasks assigned by LS
Follows and complies with laboratory Data Delivery Procedure as a part of Service Delivery Procedure (SDP), Standard Operating procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions (SWI), Checklists and all required QHSE Standards and Policies
Perform analytical laboratory operations involving LIMS, metrology, basic wet chemistry and ASTM techniques, and advanced instrumentation
Follows all relevant Schlumberger initiatives and complies with standardization, Clarity, RITE, InTouch, Quest and any other required undertakings
Participates in all required safety, technical or business meetings
Monitors and maintains laboratory working areas to ensure clean, orderly, and safe working conditions
Executing day to day tasks as assigned by the LS and or nominated personnel
Assists LS or other laboratory staff in the following as required:
Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
Recommending test conditions for clients
Assist training of new recruits
Participates in ordering supplies, chemicals, and parts for lab operations
Disposal of laboratory waste according to HSE policies
Following all quality control and assurance steps to achieve and maintain ISO 17025 accreditation
Reviews test procedures, results, and reports
Support dynamic nature of the laboratory business and be flexible to be assigned to duties, in addition to or in lieu of those described above; including oversees short term ‘loans’
Be open and seek opportunity to broaden its base knowledge beyond development as outlined in iLearn.
Be customer oriented, actively communicate with internal and/or external customers to ensure service level meets with expectations and handles customer dissatisfaction professionally and takes ownership for customer needs.

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum B.S. degree in chemistry, geology, biology, or related field
Minimum 3+ years previous experience in analytical laboratory preferably one with a LIMS and or accreditations from ISO, NELAP, EPA, ASTM following GLP.
Good oral and written communication skills: Interacts with peer groups, subordinates and management within area of advising on their area of responsibility
Experience operating titrator, electrodes, GC, HPLC, Ion Chromatography, ICP-MS, and associated software
